In Loving Memory of Antonio

Antonio Rafael Solana, 81, of Lakewood Ranch, passed away January 15th, 2022, in the arms of his loving wife. He was born to the late Antonio and Angeles Solana, August 8,1940, in Cienfuegos, Cuba.  He came to the United States with his young family and settled into Elmwood Park, NJ.  He retired from UPS as an Information Technology Executive, and eventually relocated to Lakewood Ranch, FL, in 2000.

Antonio was one of the most generous people you have ever met.  Family was everything to him and he cherished all whom he called his friends. He was the family Patriarch; he was known for giving the best advice and wore many different hats. Whether it be buying a house, a car, doing your taxes, remodeling your home, he was the one everyone would turn to. He was also a giving man, if someone was in need, he would find the means to help. He lived for his family and enjoyed the times when grandchildren and great-grandchildren could spend with him. Antonio was loved, respected, kind, genuine and one-of-a-kind.

Antonio had many hobbies; he was an avid sailor and enjoyed many seasons at Greenwood Lake Sailing Squadron where he became passionate about racing with his wife Maria. Years later when he moved to Florida, he started new hobbies of fishing and target shooting which he enjoyed doing with his sons Antonio and Jose. Traveling became another passion where he enjoyed visiting different countries taking in the culture and enjoying his retirement.

Antonio is survived by his wife Maria Solana, his children Antonio Solana, Jose (Dolores) Solana, Delane (Jason) Solana, Eva Solana, his grandchildren; Nicholas (Robyn) Solana, Kristie (Joshua) Warner, Jessica Solana, along with his great grandchildren: Brayden, Jayden, Rose, Kaleo, Kalia, Ezekiel and Gabriel, and the future addition is baby Teddy. Antonio is also survived by his sister Cuqui Solana, along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews.  Antonio was predeceased by his parents.

Antonio Rafael Solana translates to Priceless, God has healed and Sunshine. Antonio was a priceless soul and we are grateful God has healed his body and now living in eternal sunshine.
